Group 4 Islamic Studies Lesson Plan ADAB OF DU’AA SATURDAY 28 th March 2020

Point to help you complete your Islamic Studies lesson • To complete this lesson you will require the following: • An Nasihah Islamic Studies Course book 4 (Pages 172 -174) and Work book 4 (Pages 125 -126)
Lesson Objectives On completing this lesson: • All students should be able to know what duaa is in the life of a Muslim • How duaa can help in our everyday life, especially during difficult times like we are facing right now • To implement the etiquettes of duaa, which will help our duaas to be accepted more quickly
Starter Activity (10 minutes) For the first part of this lesson, do the following: • Think of the last time you made duaa, write down what it was about and for who did you make duaa for. • In a few sentences discuss your experience (use a word document to type up your response - make sure you save this file)
Activity 1 (20 mins) • For this activity, please sit with your family members and slowly read each point on page 173, making sure every member understands. • After going through each point, the mother or father should take lead in making a congregational duaa. • Before the congregational duaa begins, every member should be asked what they would like to be included in the duaa. • After the duaa, write down in your own words how this experience felt for you and write down how many adaabs you followed
Activity 2 (15 minutes) • Thinking of the current situation in this country and around the world, have you been told about any relevant duaas to be read during this pandemic of Coronavirus? • Although we have to remain in our homes, we can make duaa wherever we are for those who are affected. When was the last time you made duaa for a person who has Coronavirus? • Answer the questions on Page 125 and 126 in the work book • If you haven’t been told of any duaas to read, here a few short duaas to memories:
Activity 3 (15 minutes) • Since every child will be at home for a minimum of 3 weeks, please make an effort to pray your 5 salaah • Also try and make it a habit that after every salaah you take out 5 minutes to make duaa • Before making duaa, think of all the things you would like to include and the people you want to remember • There is a duaa from the Qur’aan on Page 174, please try to memories this duaa and include it every time you make your own duaa. If you find it difficult to learn the Arabic, it has English translation which you can also memories
