GROUP #4 Activity: Roles of Women in Feudal Japan Group Task #1: One group member must be given the role to research an introduction to the roles of women in feudal Japan. Give a brief summary of the culture of women in Japan. This group member will also be in charge of taping and narrating your video. Group Task #2: Each group member needs to be assigned a role. For example: 1. Emperor Women 2. Samurai Women 3. Geisha Women – Performers 4. Geisha Women – Assassins & Spies 5. Lower Class Women Each group member must research and learn their role. Group Task #3: As a group, research and record how the culture of women in Feudal Japan differed from the culture of women in Medieval Europe and the Viking Age. Be descriptive! Group Task #4: Create a video that will be presented to the class. The Video should include an introduction, each group member explaining the role of their character, and the description from task #3. Be creative!! You can do a sort of Mannequin Challenge, ‘interviews’ of the characters, role play etc.
