Session Goals Position every grant application for success, by ensuring that: ● Everyone fully understands the grant process ● Application meets GWG criteria ● Application process is easy to navigate ● Expectations of applicants are clear 3
For 2018… Anticipated funds for grants Typical number of applications received >$550, 000 80 – 90 grants GWG typically funds 8 -10 projects per year, or roughly 10% of the applications received 4
GWG Grant Guidelines ● At least 1 grant awarded in each of 5 focus areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health, and Human Services ● Top-ranked grant in each of the 5 focus areas will be awarded ● Remainder of the funds distributed based on GWG members' votes, regardless of focus ● Grant amounts will range from $50 K to $100 K 5

Grant Review Process “Is it just me or are these review panels getting a lot tougher? ” 7
Grant Review Committee(GRC) GRC is composed of 70 -80 GWG members, who ● Evaluate applications ● Conduct site visits ● Determine top ranking grants for final ballot 8
Voting & Ranking Ø Each GWG member ranks the grants on the ballot - one woman, one vote Ø The highest-ranking applications are funded 9
Your Role SITE VISITS ● Schedule within 5 days of 1 st contact ● Include partners, project directors, etc. ● Confirm project plans and metrics BALLOT SHOWCASE Final ballot applicants: ● Set-up table displays, etc. ● Provide a two minute overview of the project 10
Award Recipients All grant recipients will be asked to: ● Sign a contract / participate in a short video ● Attend Annual Meeting & Award Ceremony ● Meet w/GWG Grants Assessment Committee ● Publicize GWG’s role in support of the project ● Complete GWG requirements by agreed date 11
The Application Process 12
Grant Application Eligibility Organizations that are: ● Non-profit or unit of government, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt agencies ● Located within or offering services to the residents of Greenville County And have: ● Completed previous GWG funded projects 13
Grant Application FUNDING PRIORITIES ● Addresses clear, documented need ● Offers opportunities for collaboration ● Demonstrates measurable results ● Achievable within grant period requested ● Aligns with GWG focus areas 14

Grant Assessment Committee Who we are: ● A small committee of GWG members ● Each has previously served on the Grants Review Committee ● Each member accepts one or two grants to follow and acts as a liaison between the committee and the Grantee(s) 37
Grants Assessment Committee Why we have this committee: ● Our members donated $1, 000 each to support local projects and they voted to fund yours ● Our job is to follow your progress until the grant is completed and report back to our members 38
