• The Green. Metric is based on a broad philosophy that encompasses the three Es: Environment, Economics and Equity. The selected criteria generally considered to be of importance by universities concerned with sustainability are the following six : • SETTING AND INFRASTRUCTURE (SI) (15%) • ENERGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE (EC) (21%) • WASTE (WS) (18%) • WATER (WR) (10%) • TRANSPORTATION (TR) (18%) • EDUCATION (ED) (18%).
Descriptive Statistics: SI; EC; WS; WR; TR; ED
CLUSTERING GROUPS BY SIMILARITY 5 Groups of Universities
A Classification Model using Discriminant Analysis (The higher the number of the group the better )
A LINEAR REGRESSION MODEL Using ( stepwise ) selected variables SCORE = 1268 + 2, 07 WR + 1, 41 ED + 1, 32 WS ( Relative Impacts Order ) R-Sq= 89, 9% • WR Water way of use in campus ( contributes with 63% ) • ED Universities role preparing new generations concerned with sustainability issues ( contributes with 17% ) • WS Waste treatment and recycling activities ( contributes with 10% ) Now we know where to start !
