Green Environmental Management System BLOOD/BODILY FLUIDS SPILL KIT PROCEDURES For spills involving blood or bodily fluids or biological specimen, follow these instructions for proper clean-up to avoid the risks of spreading potentially infectious diseases. 1. 2. ___________________________ Don Booties, Goggles, and Gloves. Sprinkle Absorbent granules over the spill Detach the Brush from the Scooper and brush the granules around the spill to collect all the spilled material, then Brush contaminated granules into the Scooper 3. Place contaminated material, including the soaked granules, the Brush, and the Scooper into a Red bio-hazard Bag 4. Spray the disinfectant cleaner onto the surfaces and wipe up the spill 5. Doff Booties and Gloves appropriately and discard them into the Red Bag 6. Tie the Red Bag shut with Zip Ties and dispose of the Red Bag into a bio-haz waste bin 7. Open Antiseptic Towelette and wipe hands with Towelette 8. Dispose of Towellette into trash receptacle and remove Goggles 9. Whenever available to do so, wash hands with soap and running water 10. Place non-contaminated Goggles back into Kit
