However, lived in fear of the prophesy that one of his children would do this to him so swallowed his children whole as soon as Rhea – his sister/wife Earth goddess would present him with a child. Rhea managed to save Zeus by giving him a rock to swallow and hiding Zeus on the island of Crete.
