Archaic Period • Started out similar to Egyptian style • Contrapposto- standing with a leg in front
Kritios Boy 480 BC - end of Archaic Period • Example of Greek statue where the arms and legs are separate and its not built into a block - free standing • Right leg is in front, right hip drops down, one knee is lower than the other - more natural pose
