Hero Archetype �Perseus was sent by the king of Seriphos to slay Medusa. He then used the gorgon’s head to do a number of good deeds. He freed his mother, married the woman he loved, and made Polydectes the new king of Seriphos. After all of this, he returned the head to the goddess Athena.
Hero Archetype �Hercules has done many things, his first task included slaying the evil lion Nemean. The lion had been ravaging the surrounding land, and Hercules put a stop to it.
Quest Archetype �Homer’s Epic Odysseus traveled for 10 years after fighting in the Trojan War. He went through many difficulties as well as enemies while trying to return home. Even once he arrived he had to fight off his wife’s suitors and prove himself to her.
Quest Archetype �Jason and the Golden Fleece In order to regain his fathers thrown, Jason must retrieve the golden fleece and return it. He acquires help from the Argonauts, and they face many battles to Colchis and back. In the end however, he returns with the fleece.
Light Versus Dark Archetype �Pyramus and Thisbe was waiting for Pyramus beneath a shining white mulberry tree. Before Pyramus arrives he dies, and as he does the tree’s berries begin to turn dark red. Thisbe sees this and is filled with sorrow. She then kills herself and the remaining white in the tree turns red as well.
Light Versus Dark Archetype �Erebus In the beginning, everything was dark and chaos lingered around. One day Erebus leaped out of the darkness and light began to shine, and love was also created in the process.
