Where is Greece? Greece at the bottom of Europe in the south east. It is surrounded by several countries for example: Turkey, Bulgaria, Albania and North Macedonia. It is also next to the Mediterranean Sea.
Symbols of Greece This is the Greek flag and you can hear the national anthem in the back round and it is called Hymn to Liberty.
Capital City The city of Athens is the capital city of Greece.
Greek Landmarks Greece is made up of thousands of islands. Landmarks are found all over Greece. Some are natural like Mount Olympus and some are man made like the Parthenon.
Population In 2019, the population of Greece was 10. 7 million people.
Language This is the language of Greece. It is called Greek.
Greek Cuisine There is lots of different cuisine in Greece, for example moussaka and Greek salad. They like eating off of small dishes called Meze and eat things like feta cheese
Olympics The Greeks started the Olympics. They got the name from Mount Olympus. The last time they had the Olympics in Greece was in 2004.
Traditions Greek culture has a big carnival three weeks before Lent. On the first week they all go to church. On the second week they can eat meat every day and on the third week they are only allowed to eat dairy and fish but no meat. .
Famous Greeks There have been many famous people from Greece such as Alexander the Great as well as Socrates and Plato the famous philosophers. Did you know that Prince Philip was born in Greece?
