WEATHER The weather in Greece is very hot in summers , but winters are mild.
Thessaloniki is located in the North part of Greece; It is the capital of central Macedonia.
Thessaloniki was named after princess Thessaloniki , who was the sister of Alexander the Great and the wife of King Cassandrus. It’s population nowadays is 788. 952 people and it’s the second biggest city in Greece. I It is a lively city and Greece's second major economic, industrial, commercial and political centre with outgoing and friendly people.
The landmark of the city is the White Tower, which nowadays is a museum , but used to be a prison during the period of Ottoman rule
Byzantine and Ottoman-era fortress situated on the north-eastern corner of the acropolis of Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki has got a very big beach Promenade. The Port of Thessaloniki is one of the largest Greek seaports and one of the largest ports in the Aegean sea

Our school is located in the suburbs of the city, in Oreokastro
The first people who settled in the area were refugees from Caucasus and Pontus in 1922. The place was named after a castle that existed in Chats, Pontus , a historical Greek designation for a region on the southern coast of the Black Sea
OUR SCHOOL 3 rd primary school of Oreokastro. In our school there are 330 pupils and about 30 teachers
The school is situated in the suburbs of Thessaloniki, about 15 km. away from the city.
Students are actively involved in projects promoting sensitivity on environmental problems, and a variety of e-twinning projects as well as currently working on a Comenius project
