OVERVIEW OF LEADERSHIP Roles & Responsibilities The Board of Directors (BOD) shapes the Association's personality, defines its goals, charts its future, nurtures, strengthens and protects it. The Directors' primary responsibility is to set policy, lead the organization and set the overall direction of the Association. • Meetings are generally status discussions, reviewing what the GMAR has done and what needs to be accomplished. • Governance is the responsibility of the board, and management is the responsibility of the staff. • The BOD meets six times a year during odd-numbered months. • Meetings are usually 1½ - 2 hours long. • BOD Meeting Reports are sent out on the Friday prior to the meeting.

Additionally: Next Tuesday is a pretty big day, and we will have WRA Director of Political & Governmental Affairs, Joe Murray, on hand to give us a post-mortem of the election’s impact, up and down the ballot. Check out Joe’s recent article in the WRA’s Real Estate Magazine, titled, “November 3 Is Almost Here. ” 1. Each year at our November meeting we are joined by the GMAR Youth Foundation for their annual meeting. The Youth Foundation will be on our Zoom meeting beginning at 12: 30 PM, for approximately 30 -minutes. 1. I have added 3 Professional Standards Committee decisions for your review.
