Unemployment Data since February 2020, 260 Claimants March 2020, 548 Claimants April 2020, 1, 150 Claimants May 2020, 1, 237 Claimants ________________ February 2020 – 557 phone calls March 2020 – 2, 705 phone calls April 2020 – 5, 373 phone calls May 2020 – 3, 577 phone calls
Unemployment Data Since February 2020 • Nearly 100% of all customers are coming to the American Job Center for an Unemployment related activity. i. e. File an initial claim, file a weekly claim, meet with UI Claims Specialist, or use UI Phone. • Wait times to utilize the UI Phone vary from a few minutes up to two hours in rare occasions. • Food service, retail, and public services (cosmetologists, hair stylists, etc. ) have been the most common industries represented. • WIOA and NDOL are only AJC Partners that continue to work “in-office. ” All other Partners are working virtually but are still accepting referrals.

American Job Center and Workforce Partner Wins • Collaboration Fair – Over 50 organizations convened and shared resources about how to assist the Re-entry population. • Implemented VOS Greeter at American Job Center and implemented new survey tool. • Career Academy Mock Interviews • Daily Jobs advertised at AJC • AJC and WIOA have focused partnership with Reentry organizations
American Job Center and Workforce Partner Wins • AJC has been featured on KZUM three times, and has been interviewed about the Trucking and Healthcare Industries. • 25% of Customers are coming from the 68502 Zip Code. Customer Feedback Overview • Professional greeting, available equipment/technology, and helpfulness of services were all rated very high. • Barriers that customers indicated include: • 21% Computer Literacy • 12% Transportation • 11% Education
Customer Feedback – Next Steps Areas of Improvement • Utilize partner resources to offer computer literacy classes. • Connect customers to partners more often. • Make sure customers know “next steps. ” Action Steps • WIOA staff have begun a workshop and teach customers how to navigate NEWorks. • STEP Process and AJC Orientation. • Orientation Videos are being produced.
