Regional Institute of Education, Mysore is a constituent unit of National Counil of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. we are committed to delivering quality Teacher Education programmess both pre-service and in-service. Currently we offer four year integrated teacher preparation programmes of BA. Ed and BSc. Ed. for preparing secondary school teachers in Science, Mathematics, English and Social Science. Six year integarted teacher preparation programme to prepare Higher Secondary School Teachers in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics. Our inservice programmes cater to the professional development needs of teachers, teacher educators and other school functionaries. In addition we also have one year programme on Guidance and Counselling for preparing teacher counsellors. We have a strong team of faculty members who have proven excellence in teaching and research. We also work closely with the Ministry of Human Resource Development in Implementing various Government of India initiatives in school education. We have a good track record of campus placement for our students and in the recent years almost 100% of them get the placements through the campus recruitment. All students belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Tribes admitted to the Institute shall be awarded scholarship, provided they are not getting any financial assistance from any other source. Upto 50% of the remaining students will be awarded the merit-cum-means scholarship as per rules. The amount of schiolarship payable is Rs. 800/- per month for BSc. Ed, BA. Ed and MSc. Ed (I to VIII semesters) Rs. 1200/- per month for MSc. Ed. (IX to XII semesters) and MEd. In addition to this 20% of the remaining students will be awarded freeship as per rules. The selected candidate has to submit parental income certificate at the time of admission. The Institute revise its curriculum on a continous basis keeping in pace with latest developments. All the courses are currently affiliated to the University of Mysore and we follow Choice Based Credit System for all the courses.
