Graphical Output Package for Industrial Sensors Introduction: Development of parts used in the aerospace industry requires the highest standard of reliability and thus testing must be as accurate and complete as possible. Two critical states of a gas turbine engine are when the fuel rate is either too small or the air flow is too great to sustain continuous combustion. When this Lean Blow-Out (LBO) occurs during flight the consequences can be catastrophic. This project is an effort to increase the accuracy and completeness of a LBO test, which will decrease the development time and cost of the part. This process will then be used by Aerospace and Mechanical Engineers at Delavan Gas Turbine Engines to test parts used in aircraft such as the F-18 Hornet. Milestones: • Interface the test station sensors with the data acquisition card located in the PC. • Write and read to HART devices using the graphical front panel of the Lab. VIEW program. • Process the incoming test station data in real time to Lab. VIEW front panel. • Save the test station data to Excel and Text file. • Forward the test station data to pre-selected email addresses. • Produce a three dimensional representation of the test station data using pre-selected parameters. Test Station Burn Pressure Sensor The data acquisition module will obtain data from pressure, flow, and temperature sensors. Pressure and flow data will be acquired by way of a pressure transmitter using HART communication protocol. HART transmits a digital signal across an analog waveform by use of frequency shift keying (FSK). A HART modem connected to the serial port of a PC, decodes the frequencies on a carrier wave into binary data. Temperature data will be acquired by using a thermocouple. The voltage from thermocouple will be converted to a digital signal by an analog to digital acquisition card connected to a PC. Lab. VIEW Front Panel Hi.
