Simple Sentence Pattern: IC. Example: My camera is a Toshiba.
Compound Sentence : a Pattern: IC , for and nor but or yet so IC. Coordinating Conjunctions Example: The crowd burst into cheer, and the players jumped for joy.
Compound Sentence : B Pattern: IC; IC. Example: The periwinkles did not bloom; the weeds overwhelmed the flowerbed.
Compound Sentence : c Pattern: IC ; therefore , IC. however moreover furthermore Conjunctive Adverbs Example: I think sparkling water is a refreshing drink; however, my nephew dislikes the aftertaste.
Complex Sentence : a Pattern: DC, IC. Example: Because the kitten was full and happy, he curled up on the window seat and fell asleep.
Complex Sentence : b Pattern: IC DC. Example: A blizzard hit New England this week while a heat wave warmed Australia.
Compound/Complex Sentence : a Pattern: IC , for and nor but or yet so IC DC. Coordinating Conjunctions Example: Sister Lucy tried her best to help Martin, but he was an undisciplined boy who drove many teachers to despair.
Compound/Complex Sentence : b Pattern: IC DC , for and nor but or yet so IC. Coordinating Conjunctions Example: I complemented Joe when he finished the project, and he seemed pleased.
Compound/Complex Sentence : c Pattern: DC, IC , for and nor but or yet so IC. Coordinating Conjunctions Example: Because he appears arrogant, Max is disliked by many people, yet he is loved by his close friends.
