Purpose Why? – The purpose of the Graduation Coach Program is to provide an

Purpose Why? – The purpose of the Graduation Coach Program is to provide an adult advocate for ALL students so that no student goes unrecognized for his/her efforts to improve academically, behaviorally, socially, emotionally, and/or personally.

Quotes from Model Schools Conference • Children know school as a place that “highlights their deficits. ” – How can we change this feeling that students have about school? • “How effective you feel is how effective you will become. ” – This is true for both students and teachers.

Framework • Who? – Every adult in the building will have a case load

Framework • Who? – Every adult in the building will have a case load of about thirteen students. • What? – These adults will provide one-on-one conferences as well as group discussions to help students set personal goals as well as provide lessons that build citizenship skills in our students. • When? – Meetings will take place during SWAT on the days that the second progress report of the nine weeks and report cards go home. • Where? – Locations are provided on your roster as well as on the master list that will be emailed to you.

Group discussions and individual conferences that provide opportunities to set goals and help one another to achieve greatness. – 2. Hold individual conferences to help students set personal goals. – 3. Coaches will be responsible for following the reward procedures for when a student achieves a personal goal. • M- There will be a lot of movement during this transition time, so please make sure you are out in the hallways to help during transitions. • P- Coach is interacting positively with students in whole group and individually while facilitating in the goal setting process.

Student Expectations • C- Interactive with one another in a positive manner using a level 1 or 2 voice (at the teacher’s discretion). • H- Seek help from your assigned graduation coach. • A– – – 1. Students will bring planners to meetings to copy down their goals. 2. Set and document individual goals using the form provided. 3. Monitor your goals. Did you meet them, yes or no? 4. Help one another develop strategies to meet their goals. 5. Conference with the coach regarding your goals and develop a plan to help you meet your goals. • M- Students will check in with their SWAT teachers, pick up their progress reports and planner s and report to their graduation coaches immediatelyno restroom/locker breaks during this time. • P- Students are helping themselves and one another to build skills that prepare them for graduation and beyond.
