Student Voice Things for CAGS to Act On • Research tends to be on us, rather than with us • Conferences tend to talk about us, rather than with us • Whereas • Student partnership is a fundamental principle of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (Felten, 2013) • Professional associations in Education are increasingly including student voice on boards • Student members are important voices on campuses (BOG, Senate, etc) • Students meet regularly with government representatives
Asks • Include calls for proposals on joint presentations from students and Deans or administrators on innovative programming • Develop sessions that are discussion based and focus on inclusive conversations between students, Deans, and administrators on professional development, graduate life, and mental health • Create a board position for a graduate student representative and include graduate students on committees and task forces
