These units are part of the Grade One program and may vary between the Grade One classrooms.
Mathematics Curriculum Strands: • Number Develop number sense. Counts to 100 (forwards & backwards by 1 s), 2 s to 30, 5 s & 10 s to 100, prints & recognizes numbers to 20, concept of more / less for numbers to 20, + & - to 20. • Patterns & Relations Patterns, Variables and Equations. Creates and extends patterns, demonstrates understanding of equality and inequality. • Shape & Space Measurement, 3 -D Objects & 2 -D Shapes, Transformations. Introduction to measurement (ordering by size, mass and volume), introduction to 2 D shapes and 3 D solids. Mathematical Processes: Communication, Connections, Mental Mathematics and Estimation, Problem Solving, Reasoning, Technology, Visualization
