*2020 -2021 Graduation Requirements *Community Involvement For students graduating in the 2020 -21 school year, the Ministry has revised the 40 -hour community service requirement to 20 hours to recognize the impact of Covid-19 in the lives of our students. Students are to consult with their Guidance Counsellor on updates and possible volunteer opportunities. *Literacy Test For students who are otherwise eligible to graduate before February 2021, but have not yet met the literacy requirement, principals have the discretion to enroll students in the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course- OSSLC. Schools could also offer these students an adjudication process in order to complete the literacy graduation requirement and these can be conducted any time before February 2021. For students graduating in June 2021, the Ministry currently plans to proceed with the graduation requirements of students completing the literacy graduation requirement as per their regular practice. The OSSLT will run in Spring 2021 (April 8 th) and students can write it then. Students can enroll in the OSSLC or participate in the adjudication process. *ONLY APPLICABLE FOR STUDENTS GRADUATING IN THE 2020 -2021 SCHOOL YEAR.

Notable Information You do not dictate “early offers of admission”. They find you. Competitive programs may look at grade 11 marks to get an idea of a student’s performance potential. OUAC-The initial application includes all final grades from completed Grade 11 and 12 courses and a list of all currentyear courses in progress. Some universities and colleges may send you a conditional offer of acceptance. *PLEASE NOTE: offers are conditional, you must maintain your average and successfully complete requirements.

Notable Information We send your grades in February and again in early May – after the midterm grades of second semester In early July, we send your final grades. You cannot start university or college without your diploma. The Admission Information Service(AIS) is available June to August 2021 for those who do not receive an offer of Admission to find other possible openings at other Ontario Universities

Notable Information Costs this Year The cost for Applying to Ontario Universities is $150. That allows you to apply to 3 schools. An additional Choice Fee is $50 per choice The cost for Applying to Ontario Colleges is $95. 00 That allows you to apply to 5 program choices (no more than 3 at any one college) These fees are non-refundable!

IMPORTANT Dates to Remember for University Applications University applications are due January 15 th, 2021, 11: 59 p. m. EST February 11 th, 2021 - Recommended last date for students to submit all information to OUAC to be considered for early admission. This information includes university and program changes and additional active choices.
