Graduation Requirements • 30 credits (18 compulsory and 12 elective) • Completion of Literacy Component • 40 hours of Community Service • Check that your name in on the grad list (this will be available in early November)
Planning • Check admission requirements. Make sure you have all the courses /certifications you need. • Attend a college / university information session at BSS. Sign up in Student Services. • Attend CIP at St. Lawrence Friday, October 7 th , 2016 12: 00 – 1: 30 pm (Permission forms available soon - Busing is provided) • Attend UIP at FSS Tuesday, October 25 th, 2016 6: 30 -8: 30 pm

OCAS Application Process • College Applications • Watch the program you are applying for – some college programs are 4 year degree programs and require 6 4 U/M courses to apply. • OCAS – web based applications for Ontario Colleges; you need your OEN • 5 programs (up to 3 programs at one college) • $95 application fee • Application will not be processed until $95 is paid / received ( if paying by certified cheque / money order) • You can apply after October 1 st
OCAS Application Process • Apply before Winter Break Friday, December 23 rd, 2016 Equal Consideration Date is Feb. 1 st • If you are a high school student your marks are directly submitted to OCAS • If you are applying outside of Ontario the application will be different (varies by school) • If you need help with your application book an appointment with Ms. Moore in Student Services
OUAC Application Process • University Applications • Must have 6 grade 12 U/M courses to apply to a university program • OUAC – web based application process for Ontario universities • $150 for 3 choices • $50 per additional choice • Application will not be processed until application fee is paid and/or received (if paying by certified cheque / money order) • In order to apply, you need a PIN. These will be available in Student Services by early November

Scholarships • Information about scholarships is arriving regularly – check the binder in Student Services outside of Ms. Moore’s office • Check information on monthly post- secondary update newsletters • Grad Board outside of Student Services • Research the school you want to find out about specific scholarship / bursary opportunities specific to that school.
Scholarships • Upcoming Scholarship Opportunities • Loran (3 students can be sponsored) • School Sponsored Deadline: Wednesday, October 19 th 2016 All students interested in a school sponsored Loran nomination are asked to submit a package to Student Services by NOON on Monday, September 26 th. • Direct Pool Deadline: Wednesday, October, 26 th, 2016 • Queen’s Major Awards (1 student can be sponsored) • School Sponsored • Deadline Monday, December 1 st, 2016 • TD Scholarship • Deadline: Friday, November 18 th, 2016
Apprenticeship / Work • Apprenticeship – return to complete a COOP. Set up a meeting with Mr. Cusson to discuss to opportunities • Work – Resume workshops and Job Fairs
Focus Programs / Dual Credits / COOP • Focus Programs – Carousel will be in Feb. Applications available in March. Refer to the Red Book for a list of programs in the board • Dual Credits – take a course at St. Lawrence while being a student at ESS.
