GRACE ANATOMY: I Need It, You Need It, We All Need It 1 -13 -13

Grace = (from giver) free act of favor or kindness unaffected by sin/good works = (to receiver) inspires thanks, respect, homage *Undeserved: Acts 15: 11 11 We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus. *Free Gift: Ephesians 2: 8 -9 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

I. GRACE TO BRIGHTEN AND LIGHTEN Ezra 9: 8 8 Now for a brief time God, our God, has allowed us, this battered band, to get a firm foothold in his holy place so that our God may brighten our eyes and lighten our burdens as we serve out this hard sentence. (MSG)

II. GRACE TO REPENT Zechariah 12: 10 10 Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.

III. GRACE TO SHARE GOOD NEWS II Corinthians 5: 18 -21 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

IV. GRACE TO SHINE II Corinthians 12: 8 -10 4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. 7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

V. GRACE TO SUFFER WELL II Corinthians 12: 8 -10 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. ” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
