O nama • PANONIJA founded at January 27. 1994. in Novi Sad; Our organization is one of the oldest NGO in Serbia. • The mission of PANONIJA is to develop civil society. Some of our project • In the field of our mission we organize professional meetings, conferences, seminars, trainings etc. • I will highlight two significant and long-term projects realized during last 10 years. Both have affected activism of citizens and education for democracy; 1. GEOt. AKT supported by Mott Foundation and Fund for an open society, Belgrade and involved 15 NGOs and towns in Vojvodina; 2. Multiplication – Live in tolerance supporetd by Pestalozzi Children Foundation contributing to the education of teachers and young people from high schools in Vojvodina in preserving the common life and respecting diversity in the multicultural community. Holocaust education Jews in Vojvodina Today testify about Jews existence now deserted and devastated Jewish cemeteries, tales of funerals and marriage ceremonies, the homes they have been synagogue, synagogues, the names in birth certificates. Just a few important details from our work • • • Intercultural heritage in Vojvodina - mutual learning cultural heritages Vojvodine or "Tell me about yourself“ ; 2008 th seminar for 30 teachers of history in Novi Sad - in cooperation with Yad Vashem, teachers are familiar with the basic tools for the study of the Holocaust; The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Secretariat of Education of AP Vojvodina and Yad Vashem, Israel. It was the first seminar about Holokaust for the history teachers in Vojvodina area. 2010 th and 2011 th for the teachers from 10 secondary schools we organized a seminar about how to study the Holocaust, making lesson plans and the technique of the integration of these issues into the regular teaching process; In the period from 2010 to 2014 organized several seminars for teachers and ten workshops for students related to learning of Jews history before, during and after Holocaust. Overall goal was to educating to sensitize young people for respect intercultural values. Using the experiences and knowledge acquired during the cooperation with CENTROPE we formed a groups of students who made two short films – “Jewish community in Bačka Palanka” and “Raid 1942. in Novi Sad” – which presented at the schools and on the public presentations in the local communities. Today Research on the fate of the Jews which were lived in small towns and villages in Vojvodina; The first research that is in our plan relate to the fate of nearly 200 people (mainly women, children and the elderly) from Backi Petrovac and Kulpin. It is known they have disappeared in April 1944. It's not known if they have offspring, it's not known where they lived and what happened to their homes. Today we have a trace in the Jewish cemetery and the place where existed the Synagogue in Backi Petrovac.
