Open Enrollment OPEN ENROLLMENT: July 15 -August 7 It’s that time of year for you to make changes to your current benefit elections! This is the perfect time to plan expenses and do a thorough checkup on your benefit elections for the 2020 -2021 plan year. Please Note: New Hires have 31 days from their actual date of hire to make benefit elections. IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER: • Not all plans auto-renew! You must re-elect Flexible Spending and Dependent Childcare Reimbursement Plans each year per IRS regulations • NEW benefit options available this year, including major changes to the TRS Medical Plans • If you make NO CHANGES, your current benefit elections (except for flex spending) will rollover into the new plan year with the same plan or with medical the closest plan to what you are currently enrolled in this year. Remember, after Open Enrollment ends, you will not be able to make a change to your benefits unless you have a Qualifying Life Event. You must notify the benefits department within 31 days of the change.
DECLINING COVERAGE If you are eligible for benefits, but wish to DECLINE coverage, please complete the online enrollment either on your work or home computer. Under each option, you will need to select “waive. ” You must still complete the beneficiary information for the district paid term life.

How to Enroll Online Enrollment: Enroll Online To begin online enrollment, visit https: //ffga. benselect. com/Enroll/login. aspx LOGIN • Login: Your Employee ID or Social Security Number (no dashes) • PIN (first login only): The last four digits of your Social Security Number and the last two digits of the year you were born (six digits total) • New PIN: The first time you login, you will be required to change to a new PIN. It is based off what campus/location you work at, and the days that location is able to call into the Assistance Center.
TRS-ACTIVECARE - TRS-ACTIVECARE TRS-Active. Care Plans have a new administrator! Blue. Cross Blue. Shield of Texas will be replacing Aetna as the plan administrator on Sept. 1, 2020. Please visit the participant website for information on the new plan designs and new provider networks.
TRS-ACTIVECARE - TRS-ACTIVECARE TRS-Active. Care Plan Options Primary: Completely NEW plan option. You MUST actively elect this plan if you choose the Primary plan. Your current medical election will NOT automatically roll into this plan. Primary+: If you are currently enrolled in the Select Plan and you do not change your election, you WILL be rolled into the Primary+ plan. HD: If you are currently enrolled in the HD-1 plan and you do not change your election, you WILL be rolled into the HD plan.

Care plan that is HSA eligible, as it does meet the IRS definition of a High Deductible Health Plan. Active. Care 2 is NOT open for new enrollment; however, current participants have the option to remain on the plan.

NOTE: The IRS requires proof that all expenses are eligible. Medical Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow you to set aside pre-tax payroll deductions each paycheck to pay for out of pocket medical, dental and vision expenses for you and your family. During open enrollment you will estimate the amount you think you will need during the year. Your full annual election will be available to you at the beginning of the plan year. Please Note: That remaining balances after at the end of the plan year will be forfeited under the use-it-or-lose-it rule. You will have 60 days at the end of the plan year to submit receipts for any claims that occurred prior to the end of the plan year for reimbursement. Keep all receipts in case you need to substantiate a claim for tax purposes. You can submit these easily utilizing the FF Flex Mobile App. Your receipt must include: • Date of purchase or service, • Amount you were required to pay after insurance • Description of the product or service, merchant or provider name, and the patient name. With a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, you can set aside part of your pay on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible dependent care expenses like childcare, babysitters and adult day care. The cost of this policy is paid for 100% by your employer. This is a term life policy that is in effect while you are employed. Group Term life insurance is term life coverage you can purchase in addition to the basic life plan provided by your employer. It will cover you for a specific period of time while you are employed. Plan amounts are offered in tiers so you can choose the amount of coverage that works best for you and your family. Group Term life is five-year-age-banded rates, meaning as you go into a new age-band every five years, the rates will increase. The Plan ages every year based on the plan year, September 1 st. Because it's a group plan, premiums are typically lower, so it's more affordable to gain the peace of mind that life insurance provides.
