Google Classroom Expectations, Procedures, and Instructions Prepared by: Mrs. Deatherage and Mrs. Johnson
Getting Started o Each grade level has its own Google Classroom, this means you need to be checking on a regular basis for new assignments or posted comments from your teacher o You will have new assignments listed for reading, math, and SEL each day. These classes need to be checked and worked on each day o You will have a few assignments listed for science, social studies, music, phy ed, and library. These assignments will be posted weekly, and you can work on them at your own pace unless otherwise directed o You are expected to check into SEL class via Google Meet each at 8: 30 am everyday for attendance o It is recommended that you spend 30 minutes per day being active (riding a bike, taking a walk, doing yoga, etc. )
Checking For Assignments 1. Open a new tab in Google Chrome 2. Click on the "waffle" icon at the top left (it is a 3 x 3 square of dots) 3. Click on "Classroom" from the menu provided 4. Open the classroom that you are inquiring about by clicking anywhere on the icon 5. Click on "classwork" at the top of the page 6. Click on the assignment at the top left (looks like a clipboard) 7. Click "view assignment" o From here you can see directions for the assignment, the assignment due date, and any links/videos to help with understanding o All assignments will be listed as "not graded" because we submit grades through Power School-this does NOT mean that the assignment is not graded, all assignments given in Google Classroom ARE graded each week
Submitting Work All work should be submitted electronically 1. Click on and watch/open any videos or links provided 2. Complete all parts of the assignment 3. Click "mark as done" ONLY if the assignment is complete o If you need to ask for help or clarification on an assignment, make sure that you click the "private comments" box at the bottom right so that your question or comment can only be seen by the teacher o If an assignment requires you to comment to the class, then you need to click on "class comment"
