Google Book Search Library Tutorial The following tutorial helps you to explore some of the research features of this database. You may want to mirror the actions of the tutorial in a new window, to see how it works for yourself. Be sure to look for the bold red comments and red arrows on each page of the tutorial; they point out important information about the tool and its use. This is a limited tutorial. The best way to learn this tool is to start using it yourself after viewing the tutorial. Don’t be afraid to explore its capabilities. In the CLC, choose the ‘Triple Gate’ or Library Block

Type in your search terms, for instance, Zwingli

Choose an entry from the results list by clicking on the blue lettering Watch out- some items are only ads And items labeled “Preview” allow only limited pages to be seen But Items labeled “Read” are in Full Text and can be read online Items labeled “No preview” items can’t be read online- but take down the citation information and contact the Librarian about possible Interlibrary Loan

From the individual record screen, read, save to personal library, or link to item Scroll down to read item Other commands to use when reading full text (when available) include: link, save to library, and more. But choose the “Setting” Icon from this screen to select the “Advanced Book Search, ” Google’s best book search tool
