Good practices from the education sector „Influence on local brook management. Slemmestad, Norway“ The localbrook had lost its salmon and sea trout for 50 years, and was infested by pesticides. Via cooperation between the local schools, the county council, voluentary organisations and national government the brook was renovated. The local lower secondary school took an important role in managing the brook. Increased learning about environmental issues, biological diversity, local decision making processes was the main results, together with the return of both spawn producing salmon and sea trout. 3

Good practices from the education sector „Environmental management system. Aalen city, Germany“ „The Green Eel“ is a green certfication system for environmental management of schools, developed by Aalen University and the Environment Office of the City of Aalen. The Green Eel is a project of Local Agenda of the City of Aalen. The certification system is developed by students through several cources at the University of Aalen. The certificate logo, the criteria templates and guidelines are all results of students work and are approved by the Environment Agency at the City of Aalen. The students also assist schools in introducing the management system. 4
