Extra Points The children are currently learning to put their coats on by themselves

Extra Points The children are currently learning to put their coats on by themselves and hang them up on their pegs when they have finished using them. They are developing independence with toileting, eating and drinking. For Foundation 1, children do not need to bring in an individual water bottle for snack time. However, for lunch club children, they will need a drink provided by home for lunchtime. They are learning to recognise their name so that they know where to find their peg and to help them find their name card as they come into the setting. Everyday, the children are listening to/sharing stories, learning number songs and nursery rhymes and counting

Current Rules and Reminders We are strictly adhering to the Government guidelines and training

Current Rules and Reminders We are strictly adhering to the Government guidelines and training we have received about limiting risk in early years settings. Young children are not expected to be able to socially distance like the older children. We reduce risk by regular, thorough cleaning, by reducing and rotating the resources so that some items are quarantined until safe to use again and by supporting children to regularly wash their hands. Hand sanitiser is also used throughout the day. Children are being taught to follow the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach and to use the class tissues and foot pedalled bin. We also wanted to say a big thank you for following the guidelines about what to do if your child is ill. We know many parents have already had to follow these. Further guidance was sent out yesterday in the form of a helpful poster. There is more information on the website under September return/suspected virus. Please do not send your child into school if they have symptoms and arrange a coronavirus test. Other illnesses It is also important to mention that if your child has been sick or has diarrhea, they must not return to school within 48 hours.
