Paper 1 Part B: 40 -45 Minutes • How far to the sources support… • P 1 - Contextual Knowledge: 1 -3 sentences – What do you know? Vocabulary? Historical setting? • P 2 - Analysis of Each Source with POVL – How far does each support… • In what ways does each not support… • P 3 - Grouping of Sources – Which support the assertion? Which don’t? – Source A & C are similar in that… – Source B & D are similar b/c…However, they disagree that… • P 4 - Make a final conclusion or argument that answers the question. Show context & evaluation of sources (POVL).
Exemplar • With a partner… – Find three examples of context – vocab, etc. – Find two examples of document analysis – Find examples of grouping documents – Find examples of a sustained judgement – Check the rubric. What score does the example get? – How does your work compare to this? What edits might you need to make?
Your Work • What edits or additions could you make to improve your work? • How would you score yourself on the rubric? • Find a partner and exchange papers – Circle vocab & context – Underline any document analysis – POVL – Put an asterisk or star beside any grouping of docs – Have the sources been interpreted correctly? – Is there a “sustained judgement”?
