Without an Inward Work of Grace, the Outward Sign is of no Value u. Deuteronomy 30: 6 Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.

A Covenant Sign u Genesis 9: 12, 13 God said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations; I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. ”
A Covenant Sign and Remembrance u Genesis 9: 14, 15 “It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Application Points 1) We Must Trust God When a Promise is Delayed 2) We Need God to Circumcise our Hearts 3) We Should be Diligent in the Outward Signs of the Covenant
We Must Trust God When a Promise is Delayed u. Hebrews 6: 11, 12 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
We Must Trust God When a Promise is Delayed u. Hebrews 6: 13 -15 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply you. ” And thus, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.
We Need God to Circumcise our Hearts u. Romans 2: 28 -29 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
We Need God to Circumcise our Hearts u. Colossians 2: 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
We Need God to Circumcise our Hearts u. Philippians 3: 3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,
We Should be Diligent in the Outward Signs of the Covenant u. Romans 4: 10, 11 How then was it reckoned? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised; and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be reckoned to them,
We Should be Diligent in the Outward Signs of the Covenant u. Acts 2: 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ”
We Should be Diligent in the Outward Signs of the Covenant u. Acts 2: 41, 42 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and there were added that day about three thousand souls. And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
