God What is God’s love? God’s love is the high esteem that God has for His human children and the high regard which they should have for Him and other people. Did you know that God loves us so much that He will always be with us?

God is with Elijah 1 Kings 19: 1 -15

Queen Jezebel learned that Elijah killed all of the prophets. So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah saying, “tell Elijah, I am after him. ”

Elijah was afraid of Queen Jezebel so he ran for his life. He was so tired from running, that he sat under a tree and fell asleep.

An angel woke up Elijah and told him to eat. When Elijah looked around he saw food and water. After he ate, he fell asleep again. The angel came a second time, woke him up, and gave him something to eat. Elijah was refreshed and strengthened that he was able to travel for 40 days to a special mountain.

While Elijah was in the mountain, God asked him, “Elijah what are you doing here? ” Elijah responded to God that the Israelites did not want to serve God and wanted to worship idols. In fact, they were trying to kill him.

God instructed Elijah to stand on the mountain to see his presence. While Elijah was there, the wind blew. In fact, the wind blew hard so hard it made the rocks fall from the mountain. After the wind, there was a big earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire. God used the wind, rain, earthquake and fire to show his great power. After the storm was over, God called out to Elijah again….

This time when God called out to Elijah, He used a quiet voice. He said, “Elijah where are you? ” After seeing God’s great power, Elijah responded to God with the same words as before—God, the people do not want to serve you and they are trying to kill me—but this time, he wasn’t scared. He knew God’s power was with him.

…. and now that Elijah knew God was with him, he was encouraged to go back to Israel and finish his work

In today’s story, Elijah was tired, hungry and thirsty. But God provided for him, and was with him on his journey. Just like God was with Elijah, He will be with us.
