Can We Understand God? • How can the FINITE • Understand the INFINITE? • Or the TEMPORAL • Understand the ETERNAL? • Or that which is MORTAL • Understand the IMMORTAL? How can man understand God? Do our limitations even allow us to understand an UNLIMITED GOD? Isaiah 55: 8 -9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about GOD?

God is Eternal Isaiah 57: 15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

What is Eternity? • Never ending time? • What is TIME? – YEAR – MONTH – DAY All understood relative to the CREATION.

Eternity • God exists outside of and above TIME • Men are limited to and by TIME and SPACE Psalms 90: 4 For a thousand years in thy sight Are but as yesterday when it is past, And as a watch in the night. 2 Peter 3: 8 But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. • Psalms 90: 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten, Or even by reason of strength fourscore years; Yet is their pride but labor and sorrow; For it is soon gone, and we fly away.

God is NOT a man Numbers 23: 19 God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good? 1 Samuel 15: 29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent. Man is flesh and blood - 1 Corinthians 15: 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. God is ETERNAL SPIRIT - John 4: 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Who Is the Living God?

What language? Hebrew? Aramaic? Greek? Or can we us the word “God” in our own modern languages today? Translated? • Jehovah? or Yahweh? • Romanian: Dumnezeu? • •

How should we address God? • • As “God? ” Or the Lord God? Or as “Lord? ” As Yahweh? or Jehovah? – Who can pronounce YHWH? – Or translate it to the satisfaction of everyone? • Father / Heavenly Father / Father in heaven? • Abba?
