Why is Active Transportation important? • Nearly everyone is a pedestrian at some point in the day • Biking dramatically increases mobility for those without a motor vehicle • Provides low cost, low impact options that can help to roadway congestion and expand transit ridership • Safety is a major issues for pedestrians and cyclists
