Why & What? The Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) are a delivery partner of Chance to Shine (Ct. S). Ct. S are a charity which provides cricket coaching to state schools in England Wales. Through working with teachers, the aim is to create a sustainable culture of cricket that inspires the next generation to take up cricket and make it the sport of choice. Schools Programme PLAY- Half term programme (usually 6 weeks) where pupils receive cricket coaching LEARN- Classroom based cricket lessons incorporating learning linked to cricket TEACH- Provide training for teachers aiming to increase confidence for them to deliver PROGRESS- Provide opportunities for children to transition from schools to clubs or community groups Schools Roadshow A one off day delivering taster sessions and a school assembly
Delivery Overview 184 of the 402 Primary Schools in Gloucestershire. This consisted of 117 receiving a Schools Programme and 67 receiving a Roadshow. This reached 21, 298 unique children across the whole county. This was delivered by 29 different unique Level 2 & We delivered Chance to Shine to 3 Coaches
Competitions 292 hours of competitions which were both indoor and outdoor. 5, 000 children were involved across 42 unique events.
