Statements When writing a statement sentence, you need to draw a line over the sentence. You don’t need a facial expression with a Statement. Examples: ______________ I HAVE CAR I NEED GO WORK ________ I HAVE HOMEWORK _____ HE TEACHER I STUDENT
NMS -Anything extra that’s not on your hands -you need to draw a line and write NMS over the NMS word. You need to add the correct facial expression when you sign the sentence. Examples: __NMS____NMS____ I LOVE-IT CANDY I DON’T-KNOW ___NMS_______ HE LIKE FOOTBALL _____NMS__ SHE EXCITED 5. When do you write NMS over a sentence? 6. How do you gross a sentence when it’s a NMS?
Q-QUESTIONS For q-questions, you need to draw a line above the question and write a Q at the beginning and end of the line. Your eyebrows will be up while you are asking the question. Examples: Q_____Q Q______Q YOU HAVE CAR SHE LIKE MATH Q________Q WANT GO MOVIE YOU
WH-Q For WH-Questions, you need to draw a line over the question and write WH-Q at the beginning and at the end of the line. Your eyebrows need to be knitted. Examples: WHQ_____WHQ WHQ_______WHQ HIS SHIRT HOW MUCH YOU GO GAME WHY WHQ______WHQ HE GO WORK WHEN WHQ____WHQ HE DO-DO
WHO can be placed at the beginning and at the end of a sentence or just at the end. WHO can NEVER go just at the beginning. Examples: WHQ____________WHQ LAST-WEEK WHO HELP-YOU MOVE YOU WHO WHQ______WHQ MAN THERE WHO WHQ____WHQ WHO SHE WHO
TOPIC When the main focus of your sentence is first, you need to draw a line over it and write a T. Usually Time or a Noun is the topic. Then you need to separate the comment with another line and a C on top. Your eyebrows need to be up for the topic. Examples: ___T___ ___C__ ____t____c____ MY CAR GREEN LAST-WEEK I GO MOVIE __T_ ______C_____ BLUE MY FAVORITE COLOR
RH-Q When you answer your question. You need to draw a line over the WH word and write RHQ over it. Your eyebrows need to be up for the WH-Word. Example: _RHQ_ I GO STORE WHY I NEED MILK _RHQ_ MOVIE START WHEN TIME-2
I, YOU, HE, SHE, and IT You can write the pronoun at the beginning, end, or both. When its put at the end its called a closing signal. Example: ______ HAVE DOG HE ______ SHE HAVE DOG ______ I HAVE DOG I _________ YOU NEED GO CLASS.

Shift It is used to replace and, or and but. You need to draw a line over the sentence and write (shift) between the information you are breaking up. Example: ___________ HE NEED BOOK (shift) PEN ______________ TODAY (shift) TOMORROW I WORK.
