Globalization Bellwork: Please take out your notebooks, look to Unit 9 Vocabulary. Discuss the definition of globalization and the potential positive and negative aspects of this concept.
Step One: Read and Mark the Text • 1. Number the paragraphs. • 2. Circle names, places and dates. • 3. Box or highlight any unfamiliar words. • 4. Underline the most important parts of each document.
Step Two: Group Discussion • 1. Answer the text dependent questions. • 2. Identify each of the seven documents as positive or negative. (You can do this with a +/- symbol, or color-code with a key)
Honors Bellwork • Please take out your globalization assignment from Friday. Take about 5 minutes in your table groups to discuss/complete the questions. Please make sure that you are able to answer ALL of the questions.
REGULAR BELLWORK • Please take out your globalization assignments from Friday. If you did not get an initial on Friday and you finished, please make sure that you get my initials in the first two minutes of class.
Step Three: Forming Opinions/Notebook Entry • In your notebooks, title: Globalization, create a T-Chart with positive and negative impacts of globalization. You should have 3 -5 solid examples of each. Please think about these! You can complete these in your table groups. • After you complete you T-Chart, address the following question: Is globalization responsible for more or less conflict in the world? Explain your answer and provide specific examples (from the reading, prior knowledge, etc. ) This will be about one paragraph if you truly address the prompt.
