Global Opportunities Mission & Vision Statement: Klein Global Opportunities aims to create influential global leaders by providing opportunities to students and faculty who wish to learn, grow, and experience media and communication within urban centers around the world Mission Statement: The office provides international and domestic opportunities for all students who desire to become influential leaders and empowered global citizens through academic and practical experience. We offer engaging educational and professional experiences such as cultural immersion courses and assignments, internships, and service projects in a variety of locations, through both full semester and summer programs. Our programs are designed to not only enhance a student’s marketability in the workplace, but to also cultivate their global perspective in a growing multicultural environment. Through guidance and expertise, encourages faculty to propose and participate in international and domestic experiential learning.

Goals for Committee for 2017 -2018 ● Formally adopt Policies & Procedures for ○ ○ ○ ● ● ● faculty program leaders selection process proposing new programs faculty program leader responsibilities ● Establish programmatic review cycles ○ Beginning with London ● Program Marketing/branding Strategies ● Revisit student recruitment plans ● Priorities for growth in the next 5 years Annual assessment of the ICC/ ICM Evaluation and review of student program eligibility requirements Student learning outcome assessment

Accomplishments to Date ● Change in partnership for the Global Internship Program (GIP) ○ ○ ● Reduced student program fee across all locations ■ Now $3, 700 USD to $6, 990 USD vs. last year $7, 799 & $8, 799 Added 7 new locations Evaluating program models for overall delivery of program ○ ○ academics, support, financial models Began with Dublin in AY 2016 -2017 NEW GIP LOCATIONS: ● Melbourne, Australia ● Mumbai, India ● San Francisco, California ● Santiago, Chile ● Shanghai, China ● Singapore, Singapore ● Toronto, Canada

Priorities for Spring 2018 ● Exploring new Program Models ○ ○ ○ ● Interested in establishing different ways for student participation (not traditional semester/summer) Received 7 proposals for Winter Break 2019, one from each department Courses proposed would be conducted over 10 -14 days of either winter break or spring break London Programmatic Review ○ ○ Concept for the program: ■ quality of the academic experience ■ articulating Why London? - elaborate on “of course, London!” : -) ■ At a financially sustainable model for both the students and the College SWOT Analysis of current program, using faculty program leader reports, student feedback on program and academics, and current financial breakdown
