PERSUASIVE TECHNIQUES What makes a text persuasive? Persuasive techniques: � Definitive statements used; � Personal pronouns; � Facts; � Repetition (rule of three); � Rhetorical questions; � Be assertive; � Well organised thought process.
WHAT IS A PERSUASIVE ESSAY? Showing knowledge of a topic. Convince the audience to believe you. Argue your opinion throughout.

INTRODUCTION Introduce the topic that you are going to discuss. Show what side of the argument you are on and use statements to show your opinion: ‘I firmly believe…’ ‘I feel very strongly that…’ ‘I am certain of…’ ‘I have confidence in…’
