We meet every second Wednesday evening in Girvan Community Hospital We have 46 signed up members. Members come from local Voluntary groups, Community Councils, Health and Social & Education professionals, local councillors, VASA, Church, etc

At an average monthly meeting, we have between 20 to 28 regular attendees

What we have achieved. . .

We have held 3 successful PB events. Event last Saturday combined market place and ‘pitching’ style in one event And planning on joint working with Girvan Youth trust on a youth PB event in January.

Working with VASA we have a directory of all local voluntary and professional support organisations in South Carrick.

Instigated the start of the Carrick Community First Responders. People in training. . .

Girvan Connect our first Community Led Support ‘new front door’ starts on the 7 th November in Girvan Town house. And opening in Ballantrae in January 2018

We have had a presentations from our local young people on issues important to them and the things they need in the area. Alcohol + drugs Youth Facilities Transport for village young people

Worked positively on the proposed new developments linked to Hillcrest Care Home.

Future Developments: • We need to update our local priorities. • We need to work with local young people and their projects to ensure their priorities are included • We need to make our Local Community more aware of what the Health & Social Care Partnership is about. • To make our communities more aware of what is available through Girvan Community Hospital •

Challenges: • Difficult to get engagement from some key health and care staff • Being without support of Community Engagement Officer since end of May • Would be good to get local finance information re health and care services
