Giorgio de Chirico 1. Giorgio de Chirico studied art in Munich and absorbed the late-Romantic style of Arnold Böcklin. But the significant influence was the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. 2. I think WWI was influenced his work. 4. A lot of de Chirico’s work contain empty streets, and due to Covid-19 that’s what we can see right now. Almost every street is empty.

In this painting the artist uses geometrical forums, organic shapes, values, space, and colours.

In this painting the artist uses geometrical forums, organic shapes, values, space, and colours. De Chirico uses space and geometrical forums to create a sense of distance. He also uses geometrical forums to create the 3 D buildings, the box, and the statue. Organic shape is used to paint the two tall towers in the background. I believe the value of the painting includes both dark and light. De Chirico used both bright and dark colours to create space, and the feeling of emptiness.
