Graduada con honores. • 1986 -89: Doctorado en Geografía de la Universidad de Reading (GB). • 1989 -91: Periodista, investigadora y productora para Haymarket Publishing y BBC Gales. • 1991 -92: Investigadora de la Universidad de Reading. • 1992 -94: Profesora de la Universidad de Manchester. • 1994 -2004: Profesora adjunta -con una cátedra personal- en la Universidad de Sheffield. • 2005 -12: Profesora de cátedra en la Universidad de Leeds. Directora de Carrera de Geografía. • 2012 -? : Vice-rectora de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de Sheffield.
