Example of Division I Recruiting Calendar (Summary of 2012 / 2017 ) q August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017 (GENERAL OVERVIEW) § See attached Calendar for details q August – Quiet Period (end of evaluation period) q September – Contact Period (club tournaments) q October thru February – Evaluation Period (high school games) q March – Contact Period q April through July – Evaluation Period (club tournaments) q Overview of Quiet / Dead / Contact / Evaluation

Contact with College Coaches (NCAA – Div I & II) (n addition to the college recruiting calendar periods) q Freshman year thru Sept 1 st of Junior year § Coaches are allowed to: § § § Send you camp brochures, NCAA information and Questionnaires § Accept your phone calls (if you leave a message or text the Coach cannot return your call) Coaches are NOT allowed to: § Call you on the phone § Send you any written recruiting information Unofficial Visits § You can make unofficial visits to a college campus § You can talk with college coaches while on the campus visit q Junior year (Sept 1 – July 1) § Coaches can send you information about their program and school § Coaches cannot answer your emails nor send you emails q End of Junior year (after July 1) § Coaches can make 1 phone call per week to you or your parents § You can call coach as often as you wish q Senior Year § Once classes begin – you can make 5 Official visits to college campuses § Coaches must have official ACT score and high school transcripts BEFORE visit § Calls and written correspondence is the same as Junior year You must also consult the official NCAA Recruitment Calendar for specific Contact / Evaluation / Quiet / Dead Periods. Until the end of your Junior Year and the end of the Fall Quiet period – Coaches will often contact KE coaches to coordinate player calls to the Coach.
