Chichester and rough sleeping • Big area - rough sleepers mainly in City Centre. • Currently 31 rough sleepers • Day centre, night shelter, lodge hospital discharge accommodation - all provided by Stonepillow • Westward House temporary accommodation
Chichester approach 1. • Multi-agency group meets monthly to discuss cases and find solutions • St Joseph’s focus on longer term intervention, engagement is a condition of the provision. • City Centre Security Group Identify locations and direct services to rough sleepers • Front line staff direct the public to refer to Streetlink to avoid unnecessary delay
Chichester approach 2 • Business crime reduction partnership reduces shoplifting and ASB • UKBF ensure EU Nationals exercise their treaty rights or reconnect them • Overdose prevention training for staff in response to deaths in public toilets • Challenge of engaging Adult Social Care and Mental Health services
