Georgia Performance Standards § S 3 L 1. Students will investigate the habitats of different organisms and the dependence of organisms on their habitat. § ELAGSE 3 RL 2: Recount stories, including fables, folktales, and myths from diverse cultures; determine the central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in the text. § ELAGSE 3 RL 5: Refer to parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza; describe how each successive part builds on earlier sections. § ELAGSE 3 RI 2: Determine the main idea of a text; recount the key details and explain how they support the main idea.

Differentiated Activities Individual § Students will write a five paragraph report on the piedmont, mountains, swamp/marsh, coastal plain, and Atlantic Ocean. Paper must introduce a description of the habitat, animal paragraph, plant paragraph, urban, suburban, and rural life (any cities within your habitat), and conclusion should list 4 -5 interesting facts. Intervention (Teacher w/one on one) or small group § Students will. write a 3 paragraph report on one of the piedmont, mountains, swamp/marsh, coastal plain, and Atlantic Ocean. Paper must introduce a description of habitat, 2 nd paragraph discusses an animal and plant within the habitat, and the last paragraph talks about 2 -3 interesting facts.
