GEOGRAPHY Ice Man was preserved inside of a glacier for 5, 300 years. After he passed away Ice Man was quickly concealed by snow. Layer by layer the snow compressed into ice and eventually turned into a glacier. The Alps have had an extreme climate for thousands of years. The Alps were snowy, icy and rocky. Temperatures were usually below 0 degrees.

GEOGRAPHY Ice Man settled down in a rocky hallow in The Alps. Otzi was discovered alone, however he must have had some sort of family. He was in the Italian side of the border when he was discovered.
