What is the issue? The conflict in Darfur is over the Sudanese government favoring Arab groups, and suppressing non-Arabs.

Darfur side • The Justice and Equality Movement and the Sudan Liberation Movement started an armed rebellion in 2003.

• The rebellion is against the Sudan government

Omar al-Bashir • The leader of Khourtam Regime

Khartoum • The Capital of Sudan

Sudan Side • The Sudan side consists of its military police and a militia group called the Janjaweed.

Sudan Liberation Movement • Founded in 2002

Justice and Equality Movement • Also had founders who wrote part of the black book.

Casualties • Casualties are around 300, 000

Sudan Numbers • The Sudan Government claims a different number

2006 peace agreement • In 2006 a peace agreement was signed.

The killing continues • The Justice and Equality movement still continues to fight.

Displacement • Almost 3 million people have been displaced, leaving them with no food and water.

Sudan discrepancy • The Sudan government claims only 450 thousand have been displaced
