What is the purpose? ◦Educate yourself in something that you are interested in / passionate about! ◦Share what you learn with others
What are the guidelines? ◦ It must begin with a driving question ◦ It needs to be an open-ended question (”What happens if…”) ◦ Your peers and myself will approve your question before you begin your project ◦ It must involve research / science inquiry ◦ You need to be able to connect your topic with science ◦ Think about all those questions that you think of for the Wonder Wall ◦ It must be shared ◦ You need to have some sort of end-product. Examples include: a physical product that you created, a campaign, or an outreach of some kind.
What are the expectations? ◦ Genius Hour work day ◦ Every Friday in 2 nd semester through Friday, April 13 ◦ Time logs ◦ Completed at the end of each work day ◦ Blogs ◦ Complete 3 blogs throughout the semester to document your journey ◦ Final product
What is the timeline? ◦Step 1: Brainstorm possible topics and select one to pursue. ◦Step 2: Form a research question. ◦Step 3: Plan learning journey and choose mentors. ◦Step 4: Research, learn, and grow. ◦Step 5: Share your learning.

Plan Your Learning Journey ◦You will have each Friday in science class through April 13 to work on your project. ◦You will have access to computers. ◦If you need materials, you will need to supply them from home.
