Genesis 15 “he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir”
Genesis 15: 1 n After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward.
n Then Matthew 25: 24 -25, 30 he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: n And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is] thine. n And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Genesis 15: 2 n And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house [is] this Eliezer of Damascus?
Genesis 15: 3 -4 n And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. n And, behold, the word of the LORD [came] unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Genesis 15: 5 -6 n And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. n And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Psalm 147: 4 n He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by [their] names.
James 2: 21 -23 n Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? n Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? n And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
n For Romans 4: 13 -22 the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, [was] not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. n For if they which are of the law [be] heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: n Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression.
Romans 4: 13 -22 cont. n Therefore [it is] of faith, that [it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, n (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, ) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
n Who Romans 4: 13 -22 cont. against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. n And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
n He Romans 4: 13 -22 cont. staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; n And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. n And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Genesis 15: 7 n And he said unto him, I [am] the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
Genesis 15: 8 -9 n And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? n And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
Deuteronomy 21: 3 -4 n And it shall be, [that] the city [which is] next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which hath not been wrought with, [and] which hath not drawn in the yoke; n And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley:
Genesis 15: 10 n And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
Genesis 15: 11 -12 n And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. n And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
Genesis 15: 13 n And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land [that is] not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Genesis 15: 14 -16 n And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. n And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. n But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites [is] not yet full.
Genesis 15: 17 n And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Isaiah 4: 5 n And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory [shall be] a defence.
Exodus 19: 18 n And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
Exodus 13: 21 n And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
Exodus 20: 18 n And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw [it], they removed, and stood afar off.
Micah 3: 6 n Therefore night [shall be] unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
Genesis 15: 18 n In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Genesis 15: 19 -21 n The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, n And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, n And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
