In the beginning, “…is the discovery of the century, if not of all time. ” Steven Hawking, George Smoot, “What we have found is evidence of the birth of the Universe. It’s like looking at God. ” “It would be difficult to explain why the universe should have begun in just this way, except as the act of a God who intended to create beings like us. " —Hawking, Brief History of Time "The more I examine the universe and study the details of its architecture, the more evidence I find that the universe in some sense must have known that we were coming. " —Freeman Dyson

In the beginning, God created Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution —Michael Behe [Behe quoting Darwin] “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down. ” —Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species “To Darwin, the cell was a “black box”—its inner workings were utterly mysterious to him. Now, the black box has been opened up and we know how it works. Applying Darwin’s test to the ultra-complex world of molecular machinery and cellular systems that have been discovered over the past 40 years, we can say that Darwin’s theory has ‘absolutely broken down. ’” —Michael Behe

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth -it repudiates atheism, Genesis assumes the existence of God -it repudiates agnosticism, God does reveal Himself & what He’s done -it refutes pantheism, God is absolutely transcendent to what He creates -it repudiates polytheism, the Scriptures state that only one God created all -it repudiates materialism, a distinction between God & material creation -it repudiates naturalism, nature, itself, has its own origins -it repudiates dualism, God was certainly alone when He created -it rejects humanism, it is God and not man, who is the ultimate reality -it repudiates evolutionism, God did create all things
Implications: 1) If God created all things, then He owns all things & all people absolutely Psalm 24: 1 The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein Psalm 89: 11 The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them. Implications: 3) If we understand & accept verse 1, then there shouldn’t be any problems with the rest! “After all of my years in the ministry, I have learned two things: There is a God and I am not Him. ”
