Objectives • Review initial evaluation of the patient with an AIS – history, physical exam, diagnostics, imaging • Discuss acute supportive care – stroke vital signs: ABCC’s, hypertension, glucose, temperature, seizure management • Understand that emergent management requires simultaneous evaluation and intervention

Stroke Scales • Severity – NIH stroke scale 0 -42, 0 = normal valid,
