Gender inequality has been a persistent issue throughout history, as at present women are not treated equally to men regarding the political, economic, and social aspects of the United States. CLAIM
BODY PARAGRAPH 1 Evidence Topic Sentence. Economically, women have been, and still are deprived of the amount of money paid to their male counterparts. • In 2017, ratio of women's average earnings was 80% to that of males • Women lose the most amount of money in occupations in the medical field (physicians and surgeons) • Workers in jobs mainly done by women earn only 66% of workers in jobs mainly done by men • If action is taken at a constant rate of change, it will take 41 years for women to finally have equal pay to men
BODY PARAGRAPH 2 Topic Sentence Evidence Men of power have publicly disrespected §President Trump has said many horrific women about their looks, as well as their things about women. intelligence and personal lives. §He goes on calling women "disgusting", "dogs", and "fat pigs" §Uses the "locker room talk" to deliver sexist remarks §Leaders, specifically the President, should be the role model of their respective countries, but Trump doesn’t exhibit any of these features by subjecting women to judgement of their appearance and just being flat-out sexist.
Evidence BODY PARAGRAPH 3 Topic Sentence Politically, there is currently no legislature that has guaranteed women equal protection under the law, even though there have been attempts. • The Equal Rights Amendment would guarantee equal protection (especially dealing with violence/ sexual harassment/ equal pay) • Amendment was proposed in 1923, but not passed until 1972 and still had to be ratified by 38 states • Only 35 had ratified, in 2017 Nevada ratified and in 2018 Illinois followed • Only Virginia was left and came close in 2019, but the amendment has still not been added • Typically, in the U. S a group is only truly seen as equal when there is legislature that explicitly outlines this equality • Therefore, women are still not equal under the Constitution, making them
